Davido, born David Adedeji Adeleke in Atlanta, Georgia (USA), in 1992. His interest in music began while attending Oakwood University in his late teens, and he started making his own beats & exploring music production.
He dropped out of school in a bid to pursue a career in music full-time, thus, relocating to Lagos, Nigeria and releasing his debut single, “Back When,” featuring Naeto C in 2011. The single received positive feedbacks for its mix of clubby groove, high-energy vocals and Afro-pop rhythms.
This was followed shortly by his second single “Dami Duro” which got him to stardom in the Nigerian music industry. Then work began on his debut album, ‘Omo Baba Olowo: The Genesis‘, which was released in 2012 & produced a plethora of singles.

This Mega classic Shizzi × Davido produced song became the song that elevated Davido’s Career to a Greater Height. Being blessed & consistent over the Years, Davido has become one of the biggest household names in Africa today.
Dami Duro is track 16 off Davido’s first Project, “Omo Baba Olowo Album“.
Davido released this song while in the HKN records family & the song ranked #1 on MTV Base Top-10 Naija Music Chart.
This song brought a lot of controversies as it was co-written by a Producer by the name ‘Password‘ who was paid #350,000 Naira by Davido for the purchase of the song which he originally wrote and allegedly released long before selling it to davido.
Although Password didn’t inform davido nor Shizzi of the song being released prior to the sale, the truth was later made known after Davido released the single and it even made the song more popular as people were keen to hear the song bought by the ‘Omo Baba Olowo’ crooner.
Password sold the song to Davido because his initial release didn’t go down well and he didn’t have the financial power to run a Promotion for the song as a fresh artiste.

Davido released this track titled Skelewu in 2013 as one of his Breakout hits into the Nigerian Music Industry. This song was Produced by one of the best Nigerian Music Producers, Shizzi (HKN Music In-house producer as at that time).
Skelewu gained popularity in Nigeria after Davido announced the Skelewu dance competition. The song was endorsed by African footballers Emmanuel Adebayor & Samuel Eto’o.
It also remixed with South African music group, Uhuru, Other top notch artiste like Major Lazer, Wiwek, Sudan Salawe, SK Boys, etc…
“Aye” was released in 2014 by Nigerian singer, Davido. It was produced by TSpize, a record producer affiliated with Runtown.
Aye was one of the breakout hits of Davido into the industry and was subsequently nominated for many Music Awards, the song went ahead to win The Headies ‘Song Of The Year’ and also won the “Nigeria Entertainment Awards” ‘Hottest Single Of The Year’ award.
Davido’s Aye became YouTube Most-Watched Music Video in Nigeria, in 2014, Was listed among The 10 Best Songs of 2014, and ranked Number 81 on The FADER’s 116 Best Tracks Of 2014.
