Arsenal made a £20 million bid for Palmeiras youngster Danilo on Tuesday, according to Goal, and the bid is likely to be rejected.
Arsenal are hoping to sign another midfielder before the transfer deadline. Mikel Arteta is currently dealing with a number of injuries in his squad, with Mohamed Elneny the most recent casualty.
They’ve been linked to a slew of names this summer. However, it appears that they have settled on Danilo as their primary target for the final hours of the window.
Arsenal made a £20 million bid for the 21-year-old this week, according to Goal. According to the report, they have yet to receive a response to the offer. However, it is very likely that it will be rejected.
Danilo’s contract includes an £86 million release clause. And the club has previously stated that he will not leave for less during this transfer window.
If the reports are true, the Gunners’ pursuit of Danilo is clearly a losing battle. Obviously, the two clubs’ valuations in this window are vastly different.
If Arsenal can bring the youngster to the Emirates, it will be yet another exciting move. Edu and Mikel Arteta, of course, have already brought in a number of Brazilian players.
That would undoubtedly aid Danilo’s transition to North London. However, he appears to be a player who already enjoys responsibility. He has already made 128 appearances for Palmeiras. And he won’t be 22 until next April.
It will be interesting to see if anything else happens. Clearly, a significant compromise is required.Click here to give us five stars rating!
