Manchester United crossed swords with Real Sociedad in their first Europa League outing this season and endured a loss at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils went on to lose 1-0 to the Spanish club after a questionable penalty decision given by the referee. Lisandro Martinez was on the wrong of the pitch after the referee granted a penalty to the La Liga outfit.

However, post the match, former Manchester City veteran David Silva took to social media and mocked United. The Erik ten Hag-managed side came into the match with full confidence but eventually had to bow down

DAVID SILVA SENDS A CHEEKY MESSAGE TO MANCHESTER UNITED

The Spaniard is known as a legend during his stint in the blue side of Manchester which is Manchester City. He reiterated his affinity to the club by sending a rather cheeky message to the rival club Manchester United.

Moreover, Silva took to Twitter to send and posted a message that could trigger a few Manchester United fans. He tweeted-

 “Once again”

The tweet was in context with the time Silva spent with Manchester City and the victories against United during his stint. The Red side of Manchester has been the far inferior side in recent times unable to match their legacy.

However, ten Hag has the idea of bringing back the glory days and has built a team that could compete. In addition to Silva’s tweet, Real Sociedad followed up with another cheeky response on their Twitter page after the win.

The tweet read-

“Manchester is blue and white.”

Undoubtedly, many United fans will be upset with such antics but will hope to speak volumes about the team’s performances. A hopeful season awaits the fans and the club as the side is on a roll in the Premier League.
