Do not cut our salaries – NLC warns FG

National chairman of the Nigerian Labour congress contests grapevines of salary reduction

The NLC remains the parent body for all trade unions in Nigeria. Therefore, it is its primary role to protect the labour force.

Before Eid Kabeer break, the Nigeria labour congress (NLC) met somewhere in Abuja, the F.C.T.

The meeting had labour leaders from different states in attendance. Meanwhile, the culture of hand washing and practice of social distancing is the order of the day.

Comr. Ayuba P. Wabba Mni, the NLC national chairman said:

” The key role of the Nigeria Labour congress is interest articulation. That is to say, we spell out our needs to the government. In the same vein, the NLC is not in support of any pay cut. The COVID-19 pandemic has made us stay home. So, as things are easing we won’t want to have our pays reduced. But, if FG insists we will be going on strike. We remain firm on this. Solidarity………”

Comrade Ayuba and the NLC have spoken.
