The Federal Road Safety Corps has published a statement confirming the death of 159 people with 1572 injured in road accidents occurring in Abuja.
The totality of accident cases was a brief of 859 accidents which has occurred between January and November 19th this year.
Oga Ochi, the Abuja Sector commander of the agency, related this to all who were in attendance at the 2021 Special Marshal Sectorial Workshop in Abuja.
He posited that the accidents were in their high numbers resulting from the non-adherence of the road users to the appropriate traffic laws and regulations.
The FRSC representative maintained that lack of patience between the road users also added the index of accidents.
He further mentioned that the issue needed to be addressed as it was affecting the economic growth of the state.
“This trend, if not quickly addressed and reversed, could constitute a major impediment to the economic growth of FCT.”
