For those who don’t feel comfortable with cutting or chopping an onion because it will make their eyes red and cause them to shed tears, here’s a good news for you.

Cutting and chopping an onion will never be the same. A “tearless onion” has been announced publicly by a German chemical company after more than 30 years of developing it for this purpose. This onion can be cut or chopped without that sensation in the eyes that makes you tear up or ‘cry’ as some people call it.

This onion is called a Sunion. The new variety, developed by BASF’s vegetable seeds business, is now available in supermarket shelves in Germany. Also, now on sale in countries like Italy, U.S, UK, France, Canada and Spain.
This new variety of onion doesn’t only have the ‘tearless’ property as its benefit but it is able to last longer than regular onion and of course taste even better as time passes.
