Lagos State Government turns down panels conclusion on EndSARS report



The Lagos state government released a statement on the “EndSARS report,” depicting the panel’s conclusions as ”assumptions and speculations”

The Lagos State Government in the statement portrayed that of the 32 recommendations given by the panel, it has accepted 11, modified 6, and rejected one.

The recommendation details have not been publicized by the Lagos State Government.

The state government explained that 14 of the recommendations were not within the powers of the state, and therefore will be projected to the Federal Government for consideration.

From the conclusions drawn up by the panel, that nine persons were shot dead at the tollgate, the Lagos State Government explicit such as “assumptions and speculations.”

The government of the state proposed to take disciplinary actions against two military officers who failed to honor the panel’s invitation.

In an unconfirmed report, a video making rounds online indicted the Nigerian Army and the Lagos state government in the killing of unarmed protesters and their plans to cover up the incident at the Lekki Toll Gate on October 20, 2020.
