Criminal activities by a 49-year old man, who was identified as Bunmi Ogunremi, and popularly known as Bunmi Bafon, in Ekiti State, has been breached, after he was taken into custody for alleged Kidnapping and victimization of a person.

Bunmi Ogunremi was alleged to have kept his mother-in-law hostage and was apprehended by operatives of the Ado–Ekiti Police Command, just as his crimes caught up with him.

Ogunremi and his informant, who was a food supplier and vulcanizer were arrested for the crime.

Ogunremi made known to the Ado State police command that he and his gang were responsible for the kidnap of Alhaji Sulaimon Akinbami at Ureje in Ado Ekiti. He also admitted to other forms of malicious acts within Ekiti and Ondo states.

Ogunremi consented to the kidnap of his mother-in-law, who was identified as Oladeinde. He also acknowledged that she was his most recent victim.

He also spoke about how he started his kidnapping, the methods he used, and how he sustained the crimes without being caught.

Quoting Ogunremi:

”The first job I ever did was that of Akinbami who owns a filling station. The second one is a woman. The third one was in Akure. The fourth one was my mother-in-law.”

It is yet to be confirmed by the Police, why Ogunremi kidnapped his mother-in-law.
