Modou Adams Caught Trying To Smuggle £300,000 Worth Of Cocaine.
A British TikTok and influencer was captured and imprisoned in Peru for attempting to carry cocaine worth £300,000 into the UK.
The event occurred on September 30 at the Jorge Chavez International Airport in Peru, where he was searched and imprisoned. Adams, 25, was sentenced to six years and eight months in prison by a court in Peru’s Callao region. The charges against him stemmed from his role in the shipment of 2.9 kilogrammes of cocaine to London.
Adams was apprehended at a Peruvian airport with nearly three kilogrammes of cocaine in his possession. Surveillance video showed him carrying a suitcase into his hotel, and he was apprehended while attempting to catch a flight back to Europe. Adams admitted his wrongdoing and was fined £1,500. He will complete his prison sentence in Peru, effectively ending his career as an internet influencer.
This incident underlines the legal ramifications of drug smuggling, especially for people with a large social media following.
