Twenty-four of the Rivers Assembly’s 32 members have signed a document to impeach Governor Siminialayi Fubara.

They served Fubara with an impeachment notice after impeaching and suspending House Leader Edison Ehie, who is thought to be on the Governor’s side.

The lawmakers made the decisions during an extraordinary session on Monday morning.

The unusual meeting took place on Monday between 7 and 9 a.m.

Although journalists were not permitted to attend the meeting, however 9jadailyfeeds learned that all 24 members who signed the impeachment notification were there.

Ehie did not attend the meeting but subsequently arrived with the Governor.

However, the event had already completed when the MPs exited the Assembly complex through the second gates before Fubara and Ehie were granted admission.
