Politician, Dino Melaye, has demanded an apology from Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, after the latter lashed out at him at the presidential town hall meeting on Sunday night.

Obi tackled Dino, the spokesperson of the PDP presidential campaign council, at the meeting organized by Arise TV on Sunday night, November 6, when one of the attendees stood up to question Obi and someone from the crowd was heard saying, “Obi people, Na wah o.”

On hearing the words, Peter Obi took a swipe at Dino, accusing him of calling everybody “Obi people.”

Dino has now reacted to the outburst in a video he shared on social media, demanding an apology from the flagbearer of the Labour Party.

Dino, who maintained that he didn’t say anything that should have made Obi lash out at him in that manner, said his outburst is evidence that Obi is capable of physically assaulting his security detail if he becomes president.

According to Dino, a president should be someone who’s accommodating, patient, and relates well with people.

His words,

“I didn’t do anything, that outburst is unwarranted, very unpresidential, unacceptable of a leader. A leader must be mature, one who wants to govern this country must be accommodating, must have a lot of patience, must have perseverance, these are the basic characteristics of a leader anywhere in the world.”
