Salaudeen Waliu, popularly known to many as Captain Walz, a 400-Level student at the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), has reportedly beat up and battered a female lecturer, Mrs. Zakariyyah.

The ill incident which took place within the University premises was alleged to have occurred after an altercation on his academics.

Salaudeen Waliu, while relating his statement to the University Campus Journalists, UCJ-UNILORIN, mentioned that he had been arrested and locked up for two months, which made him not attend the SIWES duties.

The UNILORIN student posited, that while he was on a visit to Lagos, to meet a friend was visited with mischief, as he was accused of being a thief and held in the custody of the police, for two months.

This was roughly two months before the incident occurred.

He alleged that he had gone to the lecturer’s office, to beg her to wave off the SIWES course which he was mandated to have attended, but missed due to unforeseen circumstances. He went ahead in his discourse, to say that he was always faced with negative responses.

Mr. Waliu maintained that Mrs. Zakariyau, was unconcerned, even after relating his encounter with her. He claimed that she refused to grace him with a second chance, positing that he had no option but to join the next set which would earn him an extra year in the University.

This was his testimony of what had conspired between him and the UNILORIN lecturer:

”I got angry, I don’t know what came over me, I started arguing and she told me to leave her office, I told her if I don’t leave, what is she going to do?

“She then threw a mug at me which injured me and I started beating her,” he added.

Mr. Waliu confirmed that the female lecturer did not fight back, so he went ahead to beat her, after which he dragged her out of her office, where he completed the throbbing.

”I dragged her out and she ran. I chased and kept beating her before people came. I tried to run but was later caught by the school security,” he expressed.

This disclosure came directly from Mr. Waliu of UNILORIN while speaking from behind the bars of the security cell of the institution where he had been locked up since his return from ‘F’ Divisional Police station, Tanke, Ilorin, Kwara State.
