Darren Bent says he’d have Arsenal ace Bukayo Saka over Manchester City star Phil Foden in the England starting XI.
The talkSPORT pundit was speaking to Andy Goldstein on the radio station as they discussed who should be in the Three Lions’ World Cup squad.
England have just played out their final two games ahead of the tournament, which kicks off in Qatar in two months’ time.
However, the Gunners ace found himself playing at left wing-back in England’s Nations League loss to Italy.
Although Saka worked hard, he was always going to struggle influencing the game out of position.
And Foden got the nod over Saka in England’s game against Germany on Monday night.
The City winger started off on the right-hand side in a three-man attack with Harry Kane and Raheem Sterling.

However, Saka came on off the bench on 66 minutes and played a part in dragging England back into the game.
After the Arsenal ace came on, Germany struck through Kai Havertz, making it 2-0 to the visitors.
But after Luke Shaw pulled one back for the hosts, Saka’s through-ball allowed Mason Mount to draw the hosts level.
Further strikes from Harry Kane and Havertz rounded off the scoring in a 3-3 draw.
Saka nearly won it in the last seconds when he embarked on a powerful run from halfway.
The Gunners 21-year-old forced Marc-Andre ter Stegen into a fingertip stop to keep the scores level.
With the World Cup just over 50 days away, there has been a lot of debate over who should be starting for England.
And Bent would rather go with Saka than Foden in the first XI.
When asked about his England front three, Bent began: “Kane’s down the middle of course.
“One side is Bukayo Saka…
“Are you?” said a surprised Goldstein.
“Yeah, and Sterling, they’re my three,” replied Bent.
Goldstein then said: “Are they? You’re dropping Foden?”
And Bent responded: “Yeah, I am. Oh yeah, I am.”
“That’s amazing,” Goldstein replied.
