Former Super Eagles goal keeper, Vincent Enyeama has spoken out about how the national team treated him.
During his playing career, Enyeama established himself as one of Nigeria’s best goalkeepers, renowned for his shot-stopping prowess.
The former goal keeper made his Super Eagles debut in May 2002 and went on to earn 101 appearances for the national team.

Vincent Enyeama is regarded as one of the best goalkeepers the Super Eagles have ever had.
However, his exit from the national team after many years of commitment was not befitting for a goalkeeper of his level.
The 41-year-old recently came out about how he was treated, which led to him blocking all access to the team.
He was asked if his surprise departure from the Super Eagles contributed to Nigeria’s dramatic dip in goalkeeping.
Enyeama said in an interview with HotSports, “Sincerely, I have not been following Nigerian football right from the day I left.
“With due respect, I was treated like a piece of used material, so I put up a block between me and the national team.
“It is now that I am beginning to follow what is going on but I really put a stop to watching football or watching the national team.
“I was deeply hurt but now I am really at ease. I have moved, I’ve changed chapters, I’ve changed the page.
“ This is it, I can’t really say much about the national team and the goalkeeping and all of that because I am not watching them.”.
Meanwhile, the Super Eagles’ goalkeeping crisis persists, with Nigerians criticising Francis Uzoho for his dismal performances.
