Oyibo Chukwu, the Labour Party candidate for Enugu East Senatorial District, was assassinated.
The trained lawyer was reportedly shot and killed in Enugu on his way back from a campaign trip, and his vehicle was set on fire.
On Wednesday evening, Feb. 22, video shows his vehicle burning with him inside.
Three people were suspected to be in the vehicle with him, but it was unclear whether any of them survived.
According to Vanguard, a top Labour Party member confirmed the fatal attack but said he should not be quoted until the family speaks.
