Titanic submarine crew reportedly dead in ‘catastrophic implosion’

Five crew members on the Titan submersible were likely killed instantenously in a “catastrophic implosion” when it descended two miles beneath the surface of the Atlantic Ocean into the Titanic disaster.

A massive debris field, including various portions of the ship, was discovered earlier in the day by a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) probing the seabed near the Titanic crash site 400 miles south of St John’s, Newfoundland, authorities said during a news conference in Boston this afternoon, according to Bloomberg.

A remotely controlled underwater vehicle spotted a field of rubble near the Titanic wreckage, where rescuers are seeking for the missing submersible vessel carrying five people.

On Thursday, June 22, 2023, the US Coast Guard said that professionals from the search team are evaluating the new information. At 3 p.m., the Coast Guard will hold a press conference in Boston.
