Chris Young’s week ended on a positive note on Friday (January 26), just days after being arrested and charged with three distinct offences.
The 38-year-old country music artist was out with pals when he had an encounter with police, which resulted in his detention.
He was released on $2,500 bond for three counts of disorderly behaviour, assaulting an officer, and resisting arrest.
After reviewing all of the evidence in the case, the Nashville District Attorney’s Office dropped all charges against the artist on Friday.
According to ET, the evidence in the case included footage from a security camera inside the bar, which showed Chris young reaching out his arm to one of the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission officials, who shoved him. Chris young then falls back into a chair and to the ground before getting back up.
Chris young attorney claims that the musician was simply asking the agents to prove their identification after asking guests, including himself, for IDs because they were not in conspicuous uniforms.
“Mr. Young and I are gratified with the DA’s decision clearing him of the charges and any wrongdoing,” his lawyer, Bill Ramsey, shared in a statement after the charges were cleared.
